Sandwell Children’s Trust is currently recruiting to a number of newly created Assessment Social Worker posts, initially on a temporary 6-month basis. In this role, you will not have allocated responsibility for children and will be supporting allocated Social Workers by undertaking specialist assessment work for children and families, which may include, but is not limited to

– Parenting Assessments, including PAMs

– Section 7 reports

– Section 37 reports

– Risk assessments 

– Initial Viability Assessments (Schedule 4)

– Pre-birth assessments

Successful candidates will have significant experience in undertaking statutory social work for children and their families including the completion of various social work assessments. PAMs training is highly desirable for this role, although not essential. An understanding of assessment frameworks is essential alongside an understanding of the legislative requirements relating to assessment work. Successful applicants will be highly organised and motivated and able to prioritise work to ensure timely and robust completion of work.
