Blackburn with Darwen Childrens Services require an experienced full time Children in our Care Team manager for an initial 3 months, with the possibility of this being extended. This is an additional post to add management capacity, oversight and help progress permanence plans.
The candidate will have at least 3 years management experience in Children in our Care teams and at least 5 years total management experience within Childrens Social Care.
In order to meet the challenges of this post you will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic manager with good leadership skills, being able to inspire and motivate the team to deliver the highest standards for some of our most vulnerable children.
You should have a sound knowledge base of the statutory requirements and departmental policy for children in care of the Local Authority.
With managerial and supervisory responsibility, you will be committed to ensuring a consistent service is provided by the team, whilst also taking a proactive approach to change and promoting flexibility within the team at all times.
You will ideally have a background with experience in a social care setting. You will be a good communicator with the ability to work effectively in partnership with other agencies and teams.
IT skills and experience in the use of the Protocol LCS system would be an advantage but not essential. SWE Social Work Registration is an essential requirement of the post.
You will have access to a car on a daily basis and be open to being based in the office some days though there are hybrid working arrangements in place and based on the service requirements.
Candidates require 5 years references, gaps in employment history to be checked, and any relevant qualification as per attached job description.
