New Specialist Social Work role in Birmingham Children's Trust.
Initial three-month pilot model to trial a new Unborn Pilot model within Safeguarding Services.
Social Workers are expected to complete direct work and pre-birth assessments, caseload size will be approximately 12-15 unborn babies and their parents/families as early as possible to ensure safe planning and ‘team around the child’ post-birth.
This will ensure the protection of the unborn baby from current risks and make a plan for predicted risks, at the same time as making good working relationships with expectant parents.
The role will suit an experienced Safeguarding Social Worker looking to specialise in this sector.
